Dr. Sandy Swearingen is a scholar practitioner in Acute Health Care. She has extensive experience in leadership and organizational development. She is the developer of the Leadership Journey, a formalized program for developing nursing leaders from Charge Level to CNO. She develops and creates leadership development materials for self-study (CE’s) and for lecture. She has education and background in health care administration, nursing, and leadership development. She is heavily involved in collaborating with academia in order to support nursing transition into practice, encourage higher education, and improve nursing driven patient outcomes and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau.
